“Thousands of firefighters volunteer every year to collect money in their boots during the annual Firefighters “Fill the Boot for Burns” Boot Drive fundraisers for the Firefighters Burn Institute. Donations are used to improve burn treatment and to fund life-altering burn recovery programs, including Firefighters Kids Camp for young burn survivors and the Little Heroes Preschool Burn Camp. In 2019, our goal is to raise one half million dollars to support burn programs and regional burn centers. The Firefighters Burn Institute’s 25th Annual Fill the Boot for Burns Drive is February 7-10, 2019. Volunteer firefighters will be collecting monetary donations in their boots at the corner of Sunrise Blvd. and Greenback Lane in the Sunrise MarketPlace to help raise funds for treatment for burn victims, recovery programs for burn survivors, fire and burn prevention and education, and supporting burn treatment and rehabilitation.
